Teams

Recruited from South Melbourne District, Con Kenney joined Melbourne in 1919 as the club returned to the VFL competition following a wartime recess. He stepped into a "Fuschias" side that was desperately uncompetitive, enduring a dismal winless season where scoring opportunities were rare. Despite the team's collective struggles, Kenney showed some aptitude near goal, managing to boot five majors across his nine senior appearances—a respectable return for a forward in a side that was regularly thrashed. His stint at the top level proved short-lived, and unable to cement a long-term spot in the rebuilding squad, he was cleared to VFA club Northcote early in the 1920 season.
