Bio
Connor Freiberg is a towering 200cm prospect tied to the Brisbane Lions Academy. While he is primarily viewed as a key defender, his size and athleticism have seen him used effectively as a forward and a relief ruckman. He represented the Allies at the 2026 National Championships, stepping up to kick the decisive match-winning goal late in the final quarter of a thrilling victory over Western Australia. He carried that momentum into the state league later in the year, making an immediate impact on his VFL debut for the Lions by booting two goals against Southport.
Freiberg combines his imposing frame with solid mobility and a willingness to compete. He provides a strong aerial presence, and his positional versatility makes him a useful asset around the ground. Scouts note he remains somewhat raw and will need time in a professional system to refine his craft, but his long-term upside as a developing tall is clear. As an academy product, the Lions are expected to match any rival bids that come for him on draft night.
