Bio
Recruited from the small rural town of Kimba in South Australia, Corey Enright joined Geelong with pick 47 in the 1999 National Draft. After spending his initial seasons developing in the reserves, he made his debut in 2001 and quickly established himself as a fixture in the senior side. While he played alongside a midfield group laden with superstars, Enright carved out his own niche, becoming an indispensable component of the Cats' lineup as they transformed from a promising young team into a powerhouse under Mark Thompson.
On the field, Enright evolved into one of the modern era's premier rebounding defenders. Renowned for his elite ability to read the play, he excelled at peeling off his opponent to take intercept marks and launch counter-attacks. His playstyle was characterised by a rare calmness under pressure and efficient ball use, effectively acting as the quarterback for the Geelong defence. Known affectionately as "Boris," his consistency was remarkable, allowing him to perform at an elite level well into his thirties without any noticeable drop in speed or decision-making sharpness.
