Bio
Recruited from Sturt with pick 60 in the 2000 National Draft, Corey Jones developed into a clever and reliable medium-sized forward for North Melbourne. While not a traditional key position giant, Jones utilised intelligent leading patterns and strong overhead marking to serve as a crucial link between the midfield and the deeper forwards. He was particularly effective as a foil for the club's taller targets, consistently hitting the scoreboard and earning a reputation for his accuracy from set shots.
Jones enjoyed his best football during the 2007 season, where he booted 46 goals to win the club's leading goalkicker award and played a significant role in the Kangaroos' charge to a preliminary final. However, a combination of foot injuries and a loss of form saw him drift to the fringes of the senior side in his final years. He announced his retirement late in the 2010 season, concluding his career as a respected one-club player who later transitioned into coaching roles.
