Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect from South Fremantle in the WAFL, Cory Dell'Olio was selected by Essendon with pick 29 in the 2012 Rookie Draft to add potency to the Bombers' forward line. A lively small forward known for his sharp goal sense and ability to apply defensive pressure inside 50, he made his debut in Round 1, 2012, and went on to play 16 games over three seasons. Despite showing glimpses of his finishing ability, he found it difficult to command a permanent spot in the senior side and was delisted at the end of the 2014 season. His professional career was ultimately defined by the Essendon supplements saga, as he was one of 34 past and present players handed a 12-month suspension by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, serving the ban while attempting to continue his football journey back in the WAFL.
