Bio
Recruited from Union in the Western Border Football League, Craig Alderdice was a towering 196cm ruckman and key forward who offered the Cats a versatile tall option during the mid-1980s. He made a promising start to his VFL career, debuting in 1985 and playing 12 games where he displayed a handy knack for drifting forward to kick goals. However, his progress was severely halted by a long-term injury that wiped out his entire 1986 campaign, preventing him from building on his debut season. Upon his return, Alderdice found it difficult to command a regular position in a Geelong side that was rapidly developing into a powerhouse, eventually serving as a depth player for two more seasons before departing the club.
