Bio
Recruited as a Northern Territory zone selection, Curtly Hampton holds a unique place in history as the scorer of Greater Western Sydney's first-ever AFL goal during their inaugural match against the Swans in 2012. An athletic defender capable of breaking lines with his speed and agility, Hampton spent five seasons with the Giants establishing himself as a rebounding half-back before requesting a trade to Adelaide at the end of 2015. However, his time at West Lakes was severely hampered by persistent injuries, including a foot problem that sidelined him for the entire 2016 season. Despite showing glimpses of his running power when fit, he struggled to find continuity in the Crows' senior side and ultimately retired midway through the 2018 season, citing a loss of passion for the rigours of professional football.
