Bio
Recruited from local club Clifton Hill, Cyril Kemp was a diminutive defender who used his agility and close-checking skills to counter opposition rovers. Standing just 168cm, he was ideally suited to the back pocket, where he debuted for Fitzroy in 1926 and served as a reliable defensive option for the Maroons over three seasons. After 26 games at Brunswick Street, Kemp crossed to North Melbourne in 1929, joining a Shinboners outfit that was still establishing its foothold in the VFL. He immediately became a fixture in the North Melbourne backline, providing valuable experience and stability to the defence of the struggling young club before concluding his 56-game career at the end of the 1931 season.
