Stats
Bio
A local recruit from neighbouring Braybrook, Dal Kennedy was a wartime footballer who plugged gaps for Footscray during the roster shortages of the Second World War. Standing at 175cm, he was a defensive-minded utility who struggled to make a consistent impact on the scoreboard, registering just one major across his three seasons at the Western Oval. With the return of servicemen squeezing fringe players out of VFL lists, Kennedy transferred to Camberwell in the VFA for the 1946 season. He found greater longevity in the Association, playing 72 games for the Cobras and becoming a fixture in a competitive side that pushed for premiership success in the immediate post-war years.
