Bio
A precocious talent recruited from East Sandringham, Dale Evans was identified by St Kilda scouts at just 15 years of age and fast-tracked into the senior system. Standing 191cm, he was a mobile key position prospect who made his debut against North Melbourne in 1977 while still only 17. Although his light frame made competing against seasoned VFL bodies difficult, he possessed a strong pair of hands and broke out as a regular contributor in 1979, playing 15 matches for the season. Despite establishing himself in the senior side while still a teenager, his VFL career ended prematurely at age 19, after which he crossed to the VFA to play for Camberwell.
