Bio
Dale Fleming arrived at Fitzroy via a trade from Hawthorn, where he had been drafted from Marcellin College but failed to crack the senior lineup. A high-leaping forward with strong hands, he made an immediate impact for the Lions in 1992, booting five goals against Sydney at the SCG and four against Carlton in just his second match. However, he found it difficult to maintain that form at the elite level, spending the bulk of the 1993 season in the reserves where he was the competition's leading goalkicker. Following his delisting, Fleming revitalised his career in the SANFL with Norwood, where he was successfully reinvented as a premier full-back. He went on to play over 100 games for the Redlegs, representing South Australia and playing a key defensive role in Norwood's 1997 premiership victory.
