Bio
Recruited from St Peters, Damen Shaw looked set for a prolific career at Moorabbin after a breakout season as a young midfielder. A natural ball-winner who could find plenty of space, Shaw amassed 365 disposals in 1994, ranking third at the club behind only future Hall of Famers Nathan Burke and Robert Harvey. Despite this impressive output, he fell out of favour the following year, managing just eight games before being delisted by the Saints at the end of 1995. Shaw subsequently moved to South Australia to play for the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, hoping to force his way onto the Power’s inaugural AFL list, but was unable to secure a second lifeline at the top level.
