Stats
Bio
Recruited from Subiaco with pick 28 in the 1992 National Draft, Damian Hampson faced the enviable but difficult task of trying to break into a West Coast Eagles side at the peak of its powers. A versatile key position prospect capable of playing forward or back, he made his debut in Round 9, 1993, but found regular senior opportunities scarce amidst a star-studded lineup that featured the likes of Peter Sumich and Glen Jakovich. Hampson managed just six appearances across two seasons, serving as a depth player during the club's dominant 1994 premiership campaign without forcing his way into the finals squad. Unable to cement a spot in the best 22, he was delisted at the conclusion of 1994 and returned to the WAFL, where he enjoyed a long and successful tenure with the Lions.
