Bio
Recruited from Leeton in the Riverina, Damian Lang was a tall forward prospect who originally entered the AFL via the Sydney Swans' zone concessions. Standing 191cm, he made his debut as an 18-year-old in 1994, showing promise as a key position target capable of hitting the scoreboard. After departing Sydney, Lang spent time developing his game in the SANFL with the Port Adelaide Magpies, where his strong form earned him a devastating second chance at the elite level with Carlton for the 1998 season. While he struggled to cement a permanent spot in a strong Blues lineup, adding just three senior games to his tally, Lang later established himself as a dominant country footballer, becoming a leading goalkicker for Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray Football League.
