Bio
Recruited from Glenelg with pick 14 in the 2002 National Draft, Daniel Bell arrived at Melbourne with the expectations accompanying a first-round selection. He developed into a hard-nosed defender known for his courage and willingness to put his body on the line, often playing on medium-sized forwards where his physical approach was an asset. However, his career was frequently interrupted by injuries and inconsistent form, which prevented him from cementing a permanent position in the Demons' best 22 over the long term. His tenure was also marked by occasional disciplinary issues, including a club-imposed suspension in 2008 for a breach of team standards. After struggling to find continuity during the club's rebuilding phase, Bell was delisted at the end of the 2010 season, concluding his AFL career with 66 games in the red and blue.
