Bio
Recruited from the Bendigo Pioneers with pick 58 in the 2006 National Draft, Daniel Connors was a talented left-footed utility who typically operated across half-back. Possessing excellent kicking skills and the ability to read the play, he showed flashes of becoming a quality senior player, particularly during a promising run of form in 2010 where he gathered high possession numbers. However, his tenure at Richmond was defined by a series of off-field indiscretions that overshadowed his natural ability. After serving a significant club-imposed suspension in 2010 following an alcohol-related incident in Sydney, Connors struggled to maintain the professional standards required at the elite level. His AFL career came to an abrupt end in mid-2012 when he was delisted by the Tigers for failing to attend a mandatory recovery session, leaving him as a player of unfulfilled potential who managed just 29 games over six seasons.
