Bio
Recruited from the Eastern Ranges with pick 27 in the 1994 Pre-Season Draft, Daniel Hargraves was an imposing key forward who showed genuine potential during his initial stint at the Western Oval. Possessing a powerful frame, strong hands, and a booming kick from outside fifty, he enjoyed a breakout 1996 campaign where he booted 36 goals to finish as the Bulldogs' runner-up leading goalkicker behind Jason Watts. Despite this promise, he was traded to Fremantle prior to the 1998 season in exchange for a first-round selection (pick 18), a deal that appeared significant at the time. His career at the Dockers was ultimately derailed by a persistent shoulder injury, restricting him to just three senior appearances across two frustrating seasons before his delisting. Hargraves subsequently moved to South Australia and forged a brilliant career in the SANFL with North Adelaide, where he became a club great and won the 2002 Ken Farmer Medal as the league's leading goalkicker.
