Bio
Recruited from Central District in the SANFL, Daniel Healy arrived at St Kilda via the 1996 Pre-Season Draft as a mature-age prospect capable of playing as a half-forward or rotating through the midfield. He quickly adapted to the tempo of senior football, utilizing his goal sense and running capacity to secure a spot in the lineup during the club's surge up the ladder in 1997. His most notable achievement at AFL level was retaining his place for the 1997 Grand Final, though the Saints ultimately fell short against Adelaide. Healy found opportunities limited over the subsequent two seasons and was delisted at the end of 1999, after which he returned to South Australia to captain Central District to multiple premierships before embarking on a long tenure as an AFL assistant coach.
