Bio
Recruited from Glenelg with the weight of expectations as a first-round selection (pick 12) in the 2004 National Draft, Meyer arrived at Richmond as a highly skilled prospect with significant X-factor. However, his time at Punt Road was severely hampered by persistent hip issues that restricted him to just 17 games over four seasons. After being delisted by the Tigers, he was handed an AFL lifeline by Port Adelaide via the 2009 Rookie Draft, allowing him to return to his home state. At Alberton, Meyer reinvented himself as a rebounding defender, utilising his pace and penetrating kick to generate drive from the half-back line. Despite earning elevation to the senior list and showing flashes of his junior promise, his body ultimately let him down again, and he was forced into retirement at the end of 2011 due to ongoing injury battles.
