Bio
Recruited from Rye on the Mornington Peninsula, Danny Jennings was a diminutive rover and forward who progressed through Melbourne's under-19s to reach the senior list. Despite being a standout performer at the lower level—finishing runner-up in the reserves best-and-fairest in both 1969 and 1970—he found opportunities scarce in the senior side, managing just nine appearances over two seasons. Standing only 174cm, he was known for his work rate around the ground but couldn't quite bridge the gap to becoming a regular VFL player. Jennings transferred to South Melbourne for the 1971 season to reunite with former mentor Norm Smith but did not play a senior game for the Swans. He ultimately returned to Rye, where he became a club legend, playing over 250 games and featuring in the 1972 premiership side.
