Bio
Recruited from North Ballarat, Danny Morton began his AFL journey with Fitzroy during the club's financially stricken final years, quickly developing into a serviceable running midfielder and half-forward. He holds the sombre distinction of playing in Fitzroy's final AFL match against Fremantle in 1996, but found himself overlooked by the Brisbane Lions following the subsequent merger. Relocating to South Australia, Morton reignited his career with the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, where a premiership-winning performance in 1997 saw him drafted by the Power ahead of the 1998 season. While he managed to add another 18 games to his tally across three years at Alberton, he largely provided depth for the emerging side before finishing his career with a round half-century of senior appearances.
