Bio
Recruited from VFA club Preston, Danny Warr was a diminutive but dangerous goal-kicking rover who made an immediate impact at the Junction Oval. Standing just 170cm, Warr possessed an uncanny ability to hit the scoreboard from the midfield, remarkably booting exactly 24 majors in each of his two seasons with St Kilda. He was a key contributor during a rare finals campaign for the club, featuring in the 1929 semi-final loss to Collingwood. Despite his consistency at the elite level, Warr’s VFL tenure was brief; he departed after just two seasons to pursue a captain-coaching role at Rochester. He eventually returned to Preston where he cemented his status as a VFA great, winning the Recorder Cup and topping the club's goalkicking for four consecutive years, before later guiding Eastlake to a premiership as a coach in the ACT.
