Bio
Arriving at Collingwood carrying the weight of a famous surname, Darcy Moore was selected as a father-son recruit in the 2014 draft, following in the footsteps of dual Brownlow Medallist Peter Moore. Initially deployed as a tall forward to aid a transitioning attack, his early seasons were punctuated by flashes of athletic brilliance but frequently interrupted by soft-tissue injuries that threatened to stall his development. It was his permanent transition to key defence that truly unlocked his potential, allowing him to utilise his extraordinary athleticism to become one of the league's most dominant interceptors.
Renowned for his closing speed and ability to read the flight of the ball, Moore plays with a daring style that often sees him leaving his direct opponent to impact contests or launch counter-attacks from the back half. His standing within the game was solidified when he earned multiple All-Australian blazers and succeeded Scott Pendlebury as club captain ahead of the 2023 season. In his first year at the helm, he led the Magpies to a premiership victory, etching his name alongside his father as a club icon. As a veteran leader, he remains the anchor of the Collingwood defence, tasked with marshalling the backline structure while continuing to provide his signature rebound.
