Bio
Recruited from South Warrnambool in the Hampden Football League, Darren Bolden was a product of Fitzroy’s fertile country zone that famously connected the Lions to Victoria's western districts. A sturdy 183cm utility, he earned his opportunity as a 23-year-old midway through the 1986 season. Bolden made a tidy contribution during his brief stint in the seniors, booting a goal in both of his VFL appearances to finish with two majors from as many games. His career at the elite level was ultimately limited to that solitary fortnight in July, after which he returned to grassroots football as a notable link in the historic chain between the Roosters and Fitzroy.
