Stats
Bio
Recruited from Ocean Grove on the Bellarine Peninsula, Darren Denneman was a local talent who joined the Geelong list in the late 1980s. Standing 185cm, he was a utility capable of filling roles in defence or along the flanks, but he found it difficult to break into a Cats side that was rapidly emerging as a league powerhouse. After managing just four senior appearances in 1988 and spending the following year in the reserves, he was selected by the Sydney Swans in the 1989 National Draft. Denneman added three games to his career tally during the 1990 season in the Harbour City before departing the top level. While his playing career was brief, he later established a significant legacy in football administration, serving for many years as a key talent manager for AFL NSW/ACT where he oversaw the development pathways for future elite players.
