Bio
Recruited from local club Grovedale, Darren Forssman was a utility forward who operated on the fringes of Geelong's powerhouse lineup during the Malcolm Blight era. While often fighting for selection amidst a star-studded forward line that featured Gary Ablett and Billy Brownless, Forssman managed to carve out a role as a hard-working half-forward capable of hitting the scoreboard. His career highlight came in 1992 when he was selected for the Grand Final against West Coast, starting on the interchange bench in the Cats' historic loss. Unable to cement a permanent position in the senior side, he departed the club at the end of the 1994 season and eventually transitioned into a long-serving career in coaching and player development.
