Bio
Recruited from Yarrawonga in the Ovens and Murray Football League, Darren Ogier was a key forward who faced the difficult task of breaking into a formidable Carlton attacking setup dominated by stars like Stephen Kernahan. Although he managed to impact the scoreboard when given the chance, he struggled to hold a spot in the senior side and famously experienced the disappointment of being named an emergency for the Blues' 1987 premiership victory. Ogier crossed to North Melbourne the following season seeking greater opportunities and delivered the best performance of his career in 1988, booting six goals against the Sydney Swans at the SCG. Ironically, he was cleared to the Swans midway through the 1989 season, finishing his time at the elite level as a journeyman forward who maintained a strong goal-kicking strike rate across his three clubs.
