Stats
Bio
Hailing from the South Australian border region, Dave Baxter was a mobile key position prospect recruited from Serviceton who made an immediate impact at Punt Road. Standing 187cm, he possessed the versatility to play as a centre-half forward or relieve in the ruck, distinguished by his impressive agility and a rare ability to kick skilfully on both feet. His debut season proved to be his finest, capping off a stellar 1934 campaign as a premiership player—snapping a clever goal in the Grand Final—and being voted the club's most popular player by supporters. Unfortunately, a debilitating back injury forced him into premature retirement after just three seasons, cutting short a promising VFL career while he was still in his prime.
