Stats
Bio
A West Australian rover recruited from the Perth Football Club, Dave Browning crossed the Nullarbor to join Carlton for the 1955 season. Standing just 173cm, he made a lively start to his VFL career, debuting in a comfortable win over Fitzroy where he rotated through the midfield and booted his solitary goal for the club. However, consistent senior opportunities proved elusive in a fluctuating Blues side; after a brief run of games and a mid-season recall during a losing streak, he was unable to cement a permanent spot in the 22 and was delisted at the end of the year. While his time at Princes Park was short-lived, Browning remained in Victoria and carved out a successful tenure in the VFA with Brighton, eventually winning the club's Best and Fairest award in 1959.
