Bio
Recruited from Templestowe, Dave Chivers was a solidly built key position player who earned his opportunity with Fitzroy in the mid-1950s. Standing 185cm, he possessed the physical frame to compete in key defensive posts or as a follower, providing structural depth for the Lions. He made his debut in the 1956 season but struggled to secure a permanent spot in the senior lineup, managing just seven games across two years at the Brunswick Street Oval. While his VFL career was brief, he hailed from a prominent local football family, with the Chivers name remaining closely linked to the history of the Templestowe Football Club.
