Teams

Born in Swan Hill and recruited from Northcote, Dave Earsman was a journeyman footballer whose VFL career was bookended by a significant stint in the Association. He first broke into the league with Fitzroy in 1909, managing three senior appearances before returning to Northcote, where he became a regular fixture over the subsequent three seasons. His consistent form in the VFA earned him a second opportunity at the elite level, this time with Carlton in 1913, though he was unable to cement a permanent spot in a strong Blues lineup. Standing 177cm, Earsman added just two games to his tally at Princes Park before his top-level career concluded, leaving him with a total of five matches across two clubs prior to his premature death in 1919.
