Bio
A prolific ball-winner recruited from East Perth, David Bain entered the VFL as a mature-age prospect after claiming the 1988 Sandover Medal. He immediately established himself as a central figure in the Brisbane Bears' midfield, using his exceptional endurance and accumulation skills to drive the engine room of a struggling side. Bain’s consistency was rewarded when he won the Bears' Club Champion award in 1990, highlighting his importance during the club's formative years on the Gold Coast. After falling out of favour and being delisted by Brisbane at the end of 1993, he was thrown a lifeline by Fitzroy in the pre-season draft, where he played one final season of senior football before returning to the WAFL.
