Bio
Recruited from the Port Adelaide Magpies, David Brown holds the rare distinction of being a member of the inaugural squads for both the Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide. A tenacious rover and small forward known for his courage and goal sense, he broke into the Crows' lineup during their debut 1991 season and became a fixture at West Lakes, playing 69 games over six years. When the Power entered the AFL in 1997, Brown returned to his spiritual home, crossing the divide to play in Port Adelaide's first-ever AFL match against Collingwood. He added experienced run to the developing side for two seasons before retiring from the national level to captain the Magpies in the SANFL, cementing his status as a key figure in the state's football transition.
