Bio
Recruited from local nursery Chanel College, David Brown was a small utility who enjoyed a brief but sharp rise in the Geelong senior side during the mid-1960s. Standing 177cm, he operated primarily as a rover or forward pocket, capable of finding space and hitting the scoreboard. He burst onto the scene late in the 1965 season, debuting in Round 14 and retaining his place right through to September, famously playing in the Preliminary Final loss to Essendon on his 19th birthday. Despite that rapid ascent into high-stakes football, Brown found it difficult to command a regular spot in a midfield division featuring stars like Bill Goggin and Polly Farmer, adding just four games in 1966 before his VFL career concluded.
