Bio
Recruited to Collingwood under the father-son rule as the progeny of former Magpie Phil King, David D. King was a diminutive small forward with a natural eye for goal. Selected with pick 34 in the 2002 National Draft, he entered the AFL system with expectations of adding pace and crumbing ability to the Collingwood attack. While he displayed flashes of talent and managed to hit the scoreboard when given the opportunity, King's time at the elite level was hampered by persistent hamstring injuries and the challenge of breaking into a competitive forward line. Consequently, he struggled to cement a regular spot in the senior lineup, appearing sporadically across three seasons before being delisted at the conclusion of 2005.
