Bio
Recruited from VFA club Geelong West, David Harris arrived at the Cats fresh off a best-on-ground performance in the Roosters' 1968 premiership win. A pacy centreman and rover known for his speed and ball-winning ability, he broke into the Geelong lineup midway through 1969 and retained his place for the club's semi-final campaign. After a broken collarbone ruined his 1970 season, Harris returned to play every match in 1971, averaging high possession numbers as a key component of the midfield. He departed Kardinia Park during the 1972 season to return to Geelong West, where he cemented his legacy as a VFA great, eventually captaining the club and earning selection in the VFA Team of the Year.
