Bio
Recruited from SANFL powerhouse Port Adelaide, David Hynes established himself at West Coast as a mobile utility capable of supporting the ruck division or presenting as a marking target in attack. He played a valuable role in the Eagles' 1994 premiership victory, but his tenure at the club ended in high-profile circumstances when he launched Federal Court action against the AFL's transfer rules to secure a move to cross-town rivals Fremantle. Hynes ultimately joined the Dockers for the 1996 season, adding experienced depth to the club's developing list for two years before retiring.
