Bio
Recruited from Nyah West in the Mid-Murray Football League, David Simpson was a promising rover who showed flashes of talent during his brief stint at the top level. He broke into the Richmond senior side late in the 1984 season and appeared set for a solid run in 1985, kicking a clever goal in the opening round clash against Essendon. However, an injury sustained in that match stalled his progress, and he was unable to force his way back into the Tigers' lineup. Simpson crossed to Collingwood for the 1986 season in search of greater opportunity but failed to add to his senior game tally, eventually continuing his career with Oakleigh in the VFA.
