Bio
Recruited from Ormond Amateurs within the Tigers' local recruiting zone, David Miller was a prolific junior forward who starred in Richmond’s 1975 Under-19 premiership side. He burst onto the senior stage with one of the most memorable debuts in club history, booting five goals against arch-rivals Collingwood in front of a then-record home-and-away crowd of over 92,000 fans on Anzac Day in 1977. Despite this electrifying start, the tall forward found it difficult to hold his spot in a formidable lineup and struggled with recurring shoulder issues that ultimately hampered his VFL career. He added just four more senior appearances before departing for Oakleigh in the VFA the following season, leaving his five-goal haul in a blockbuster clash as his defining legacy at Punt Road.
