Bio
David Muir's path to the AFL was anything but direct, having been drafted and subsequently delisted by both West Coast and North Melbourne without playing a senior game. The Claremont product finally found his home as a foundation selection for Fremantle, returning to Western Australia to bolster the inaugural squad's defensive stocks. A solid, strong-bodied utility who primarily played in the backline, Muir is best remembered for a singular moment of offensive history: drifting forward in the club's debut match against Richmond in 1995 to boot the first-ever goal for the Fremantle Football Club. While his top-level career was limited to just two seasons, that historic major at the MCG ensures his permanent place in Dockers folklore.
