Bio
Recruited from Yea in country Victoria, David Murray was a ruck-rover who earned his opportunity during a lean period for the Melbourne Football Club in the mid-1970s. He made his debut in Round 3, 1974, and retained his place for a six-game block as the Demons searched for answers during a long losing streak. While he remained on the list the following season and performed consistently enough to finish runner-up in the reserves Best and Fairest, he was unable to break back into the senior side. Murray departed the VFL without adding to his game tally, continuing his football journey in the VFA with Prahran and later Waverley.
