Bio
Recruited from the Prahran Dragons with pick 15 in the 1999 National Draft, David Spriggs was a speedy, blond-haired midfielder known for his run-and-carry style through the corridor. He quickly established himself in the Geelong engine room, with his career highlight coming in the 2002 pre-season competition where he won the Michael Tuck Medal in the Cats' premiership victory. However, his momentum was halted by a serious knee injury in 2003 that restricted him to minimal game time over his final years at Kardinia Park. Seeking to revitalise his career, Spriggs was traded to Sydney ahead of the 2005 season, but he found it difficult to break into the Swans' disciplined midfield rotation during their premiership era and was delisted following the 2006 season.
