Bio
Recruited from St Kevin's College, David Sullivan first made his mark as the captain of Hawthorn's Under-19s before breaking into the senior side during the club's dominant 1986 premiership campaign. Restricted to just a single appearance amidst the Hawks' star-studded lineup, the strong-bodied half-forward crossed to Essendon where he showed flashes of potential, booting 14 goals in 10 games across two seasons. Despite his ability to hit the scoreboard, he struggled to consolidate a permanent spot at Windy Hill and was delisted on the eve of the 1989 season. Following a stint in the VFA with Camberwell, Sullivan was handed a final AFL lifeline by Richmond in 1990, though he did not add to his senior game tally during his time at Punt Road. He later achieved legendary status in country football, famously booting 26 goals in a single match for Blighty in the Picola & District League in 1999.
