Bio
Recruited from West Heidelberg, David Wall was a tall, imposing figure who became a reliable servant for Fitzroy during a decade-long stint at the Junction Oval. Standing at 193cm, he possessed the height of a ruckman but played the majority of his football as a key forward, providing a strong target in attack for the Lions. While not a prolific high-flyer in the mould of some contemporaries, his consistency and longevity allowed him to carve out a respectable VFL career, culminating in him topping the club's goalkicking table in 1974 with 35 majors.
Wall remained a fixture in the senior side until the end of 1976, departing the VFL with over 130 games to his name. He continued his football journey in the VFA with Northcote, but his time there was unfortunately cut short. In a concerning end to his playing days, Wall was forced into retirement after suffering two severe concussions in the space of just three games, prompting him to hang up the boots for his own well-being.
