Bio
Recruited from Hobart in the TFL, David Wittey arrived at St Kilda as a key defender, joining his brother Michael at Moorabbin. A traditional full-back tasked with lockdown roles, Wittey found it difficult to secure a permanent position in the Saints' senior lineup before being delisted. He was handed a lifeline by the Brisbane Bears for the 1989 season, adding depth to the fledgling club's defensive stocks, but managed only sporadic appearances in Queensland. His journeyman career concluded with a brief stint at the Sydney Swans in 1990 via the Pre-Season Draft, leaving the game as a depth defender who played 25 games across three clubs without registering a goal.
