Bio
Selected by Richmond with pick 20 in the 2004 National Draft, Dean Polo burst onto the scene with one of the most memorable debuts in modern Tiger history, claiming the Yiooken Medal as best afield in the 2006 Dreamtime at the 'G clash against Essendon. Despite that high-production start, he eventually settled into a career as an industrious midfielder and run-with specialist rather than a prolific ball-winner, often tasked with nullifying dangerous opposition playmakers. After falling out of favour at Punt Road and being delisted at the conclusion of the 2010 season, he was thrown a lifeline by St Kilda, where he added valuable depth to their midfield rotation. Polo spent two seasons at Moorabbin primarily executing specific negating roles before being delisted a final time at the end of 2012.
