Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect from the North Ballarat Roosters, Dean Towers was selected by Sydney with pick 22 in the 2012 National Draft after impressing with elite physical testing results. An athletic utility capable of playing as a running half-forward or on the wing, Towers possessed speed and endurance that allowed him to cover significant ground, though his consistency and ball use occasionally varied at the elite level. He found it difficult to permanently cement a position in the Swans' best 22 throughout his tenure, often oscillating between the senior side and the NEAFL, but managed to establish himself during the 2016 season where he played 17 games, culminating in an appearance in the Grand Final loss to the Western Bulldogs. Towers remained a fringe player for the remainder of his time in the harbour city before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2018 season.
