Recruited from Melbourne's VFL affiliate, the Casey Scorpions, Declan Keilty was a mature-age selection taken with pick 41 in the 2017 Rookie Draft. A versatile key position player capable of operating as an intercepting defender or a pinch-hitting forward, Keilty spent his first two seasons developing in the state league before finally breaking through for his AFL debut in Round 6, 2019 against Richmond. While he offered structural flexibility and strong contested marking ability, he found it difficult to secure a permanent spot in the Demons' lineup, managing just two senior appearances before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2019 season.
