Bio
A ruckman recruited from South Yarra, Dick Bayford made a brief but notable appearance for Essendon during the 1910 VFL season. He broke into the senior side as a follower who could drift forward, managing to boot two goals across his five matches at the top level. Although he earned his spot in a competitive team that went on to play finals that year, Bayford was unable to cement a permanent place in the line-up. He departed the club just prior to the famous back-to-back premiership dynasty of 1911 and 1912, leaving his career as a short cameo in the club's pre-war history.
