Bio
Recruited from Ormond Amateurs, Dick Fenton-Smith broke into a formidable Melbourne lineup during the height of the Norm Smith dynasty. A robust follower and ruckman capable of resting in defence, he established himself immediately, playing in the 1957 premiership side during his debut season. He remained a fixture in the senior team over the next two years, claiming a second flag in 1959 while providing physical presence to support the Demons' star-studded midfield. Despite establishing himself as a dual premiership player within just 50 games, his VFL career was short-lived, as he transferred to Sturt in the SANFL following the 1959 season.
